For Creation Rock, I wanted to bring the iconic Colorado sandstone into an abstract, geometric dialogue. By weaving squares into and around the rock’s natural form, I tried creating an interplay that challenges its rugged silhouette while guiding the viewer's eye. The blue and orange tones reflect the spirit of Colorado through its sports and sunsets, blending familiar colors with the enduring shape of Red Rocks to celebrate this venue.
Fun fact: Creation Rock is the north side sandstone pillar that makes up the left wall of Red Rocks Ampitheatre (the south is Ship Rock).
