Costilla
$185.00
Costilla places two bison in quiet confrontation with a reflective monolith, echoing the mysterious structures discovered in the Utah desert in 2020. Set in the open expanse of Colorado’s San Luis Valley, in Costilla County, the scene is both surreal and grounded, inviting viewers into a moment of stillness and speculation. The name Costilla, meaning “rib” in Spanish, nods to the subtle anatomical detail visible on one of the bison. I’m drawn to creating images that leave room for interpretation and mystery, but is also about presence, awe, and the unknown.
