For this piece, I just wanted to experiment with a fun surreal landscape- I started by painting a simple, small landscape of Monument Valley, AZ but liked the beachy ocean color of the sky so much that I added in koi fish (that I loved to watch swim around in my grandfather's pond in Fresno when I was a kid).
