This monochromatic acrylic painting merges the ancient and the contemporary, placing the dramatic scene of Laocoon and His Sons against Moab's rugged landscape with serene, Chinese ink wash-inspired water and terrain below.

I used earthy brown tones driven by a supply shortage in 2021, thus wanting to challenge myself to use as few colors/materials as possible. It’s a unique fusion of Eastern and Western styles, blending myth, landscape, and history in an evocative, unified composition.
