Watching Back

This piece reimagines Denver’s iconic Blue Bear as a silent witness to the architecture of modern surveillance. In this version, the Bear faces a Palantir skyscraper (which moved the HQ to Denver in 2020- and now to Miami after backlash). Around it stands a tall surveillance pole resembling Flock-style cameras with a flock, or murder I suppose, of crows surveying the land.

Since the original Blue Bear symbolizes curiosity and civic openness as a gentle giant peeking in a public space, I wanted a reinterpretation where curiosity becomes inversion. Who is looking at whom?
